Friends and Food, Dinner Documentation and a rather spicy Fish Dish.

Ok, so I've been distracted.

I threw a dinner party with Indonesian food somewhere back in October. After my last journal entry, I officially decided that more of the pages in my journal should document something of significance. So, for this page, I decided not to just smear any random food all over it. I thought this dinner would be the most fitting dinner to smear.

The dinner party was absolutely lovely. It consisted of 2 full days of cooking with my father, and then a good few hours of munching. I can't remember how many dishes I made in all, But I know that the spicy fish made quite an impression, and that the Rendang was most popular.

What was also special, is that it was a get together that included my nerdy man friends from home, and some eloquent and educated ladies from around the world that are in my Uni program with me. I love the coming together of people in that way.

And Lastly, this dinner was really one of the first reminders of how much I love hosting. Last night, I hosted a Sinterklaas party for 18 people at my house. Although they left it a mess, beer cans all over and spilled candy in all nooks and crannies, it was absolutely lovely, and I wouldn't have it any other way. More parties at my place I say!

Smeared on the page is mostly Peanut Sauce, some Pangsit Goreng (although fried things don't smear as much as they just crumble...), and I think one of the strawberries from Tess' punch got mixed in there aswel.

In the end, it's a good reminder that I have lovely friends, and that I love hosting parties/dinners/brunches and cooking for other people. So much, that I don't even mind the mess it leaves behind. I guess this messy journal entry is fitting.
